Center of Excellence Council

The Council of the CoE, is part of the governance, with up to nine members. It has an advisory role, and its members care about facilitating the promotion of the goals and objectives of biobank.cy at societal and political level.

It is composed of personalities well-recognised in the Cypriot society, outside the UCY community. The Director of biobank.cy participates as Observer, without a voting right. The Ambassador of Austria also participates as Observer, without a voting right.

In order to facilitate discussion of issues related to the operation of the CoE, other biobank.cy members may be invited as Observers, per the decision of the Chairperson, and upon the recommendation of the Director or other members.

Elena Tanou is a highly regarded business professional with three decades of experience in the international travel and tourism industry. Educated at the University of Nancy, France, she is a prominent advocate for private sector development in the Cyprus economy. Currently, she serves as Vice President of the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of the Nicosia Tourism Board, and Board member of Transparency International (Cyprus).Read More

Lawyer 

Marios Eliades, founder of Eliades & Partners, boasts over five decades of legal expertise in Cyprus. His vast experience encompasses corporate law, administrative and constitutional law, and commercial contracts. He advises international companies and significant public and private corporations in Cyprus. Marios Kouloumas 
Cyprus Federation of Patients’ Associations 

Mr. Marios Kouloumas was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of ten. He has been working in the public sector since 1983 and since 1993 he has been working at the Nicosia General Hospital.
