Research study on the presence of SARS-CoV- 2/Covid-19 antibodies

The study

Scientists from three universities in Cyprus are joining forces for a new research study, which will test the presence of coronavirus antibodies in three population groups and shed light on a number of unanswered questions about Covid-19.

They ask for volunteers, who were diagnosed with coronavirus, health professionals from the General Hospital of Nicosia, the Makareio Hospital and the General Hospital of Pafos as well as people from the general public and donors to further fund the research. The people from the general public will be called through a call center which will apply a random selection methodology. The research study will be conducted by the Center of Excellence in Biobanking and Biomedical Research at University of Cyprus, biobank.cy, the Medical Schools of the University of Cyprus and the University of Nicosia, and the Department of Health Sciences of the European University Cyprus.

The antibodies test will be free of charge. The research has been officially approved by the Cyprus Bioethics Committee under decision ΕΕΒΚ/ΕΠ/2020/19.

The procedure

The registration, participation, the analysis and the processing of your data will be completely confidential. If you have been diagnosed as a positive Covid-19 case, with or without developing any symptoms, or if you are a health professional working in any of the above hospitals and you are interest to know if you have developed any antibodies against corona virus, we would are encouraging you to apply, by filling in the online registration form below, especially the required boxes.
