The Molecular Medicine Research Centre (MMRC) has been at the forefront of pioneering research in inherited kidney disorders for over 30 years, making a significant impact both locally and internationally. Currently, the Centre of Excellence (CoE) is expanding its scope to encompass a broader range of inherited disorders, as well as complex genetic traits found within the Cypriot population. This expansion is driven by a systematic integration of biobanking and research. 

The overarching goal is to deepen our understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying disease, ultimately leading to improved diagnosis, prevention, and treatment strategies.
