The Molecular Medicine Research Centre (MMRC) is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying human disease, with the ultimate goal of improving diagnosis, prevention, patient stratification, and personalised therapeutic approaches. Through the integration of molecular research, genomics, and translational medicine approaches, the MMRC supports high-quality biomedical research and innovation in alignment with international scientific standards and best practices.
For more than 30 years, the MMRC has been at the forefront of pioneering research in inherited kidney disorders, establishing a strong international reputation for scientific excellence and impactful contributions to the field. Building upon this long-standing expertise, the Centre has expanded its research portfolio to include a wider spectrum of inherited diseases, complex genetic traits, and population-scale biomedical research relevant to the Cypriot population and beyond.
The MMRC provides a modern research infrastructure that supports molecular and translational research activities across multiple disease areas. Its facilities and technological platforms offer the scientific and computational framework required for sample processing, molecular analyses, genomics, data generation, and collaborative biomedical research, fostering innovation and interdisciplinary scientific advancement.
