NanoCure: A Nanoscale Platform for Therapeutic Drug Delivery

Led by Dr Panagiota Gregoriou, this project focuses on bringing a cutting-edge drug nanocarrier with high specificity for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) closer to the relevant market. This prototype was previously created and patented under the UCY, and its inventor was able to utilize the services provided by the Innovation Hub to apply for various research grants. The project has been recently selected through a very competitive lot of innovative products to be endorsed by the Cyprus Seeds Program and receive funding at its 4th Cycle (18 months), starting from March 2025.

This initiative aims at training researchers towards becoming more familiar with business development matters. Hence, a series of training sessions, bootcamps, one-to-one meetings with business mentors, are some of the tools used to help researchers find the best possible direction or next step that will enhance the marketability of their inventions. Altogether, participating in Cyprus Seeds will essentially create a unique momentum to eventually bring such inventions from benchtop to bedside.
